In June 2013 Martin is planning to ride around Kent in his Boma for his latest challenge. Once again he is aiming to use this to raise funds for the Scoliosis Campaign Fund (SCF)
The SCF consists of Scoliosis Association (UK) and Scoliosis Research Fund. All funds raised through SCF is then split between the two organisations. To learn more about SCF go to www.scoliosiscampaignfund.org.uk
The Ring of Kent route is mainly on quiet roads with two thirds the route following the coast from Broadstairs anti-clockwise direction towards Whitstable and Canterbury using local and National Cycle Routes. It is about 125 miles. We are aiming to ride about 20 – 25 miles per day or until 2 sets of batteries have been depleted. We will be having longish lunch breaks so that Martin will have the opportunity to have an hour on his ventilator if required.
We have a loan of a campervan as accommodation for Martin. We may or may not pre-book campsites and will drive to the nearest site on completion of the days ride. This may require two trips as not all of the cycling team will fit in the campervan. The cycling team will be camping as usual.
Martin will be supported by a team of cyclists, a friend who will oversee any medical requirements personal help and a support vehicle.
Please sponsor me to help those who have Scoliosis.
